Revisiting my list

I want to add one thing to my list of things I'm looking for in a boyfriend/husband/partner/lover and that is that he would have to see me as his equal. This is a pretty important point to me.

I was reading over the blogs of my friends and one of my friends takes a lot of pictures of scenery back home.  She had this one shot of a sunset over the Kam and it just really made me miss home.  Only 3 weeks to go before I'm home for Karen's shower.  I love it there in the fall.  I can feel the crisp air and the see the yellow and orange leaves beginning to spread everywhere.  I can't wait to be there.  Be close to the trees again.  I miss trees.  Something so simple yet something rare where I am now.  It's so urban here.

These next few months are going to fly because I have so much going on. Karen's shower, Shawn and Allie's stag and doe, trip to a cottage, trip to Niagara-on-the-lake, my parents visiting possibly, me going home for Karen's wedding and then home for Christmas.

Oh and Thanksgiving should be an experiment.  Kate and I are Thanksgiving orphans down here.  All our families back in the bay we have no one to spoil us with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatos and pumpkin pie.  So this year we will endeavor to cook a turkey.  Please try not to laugh even though I'm sure it's hard to imagine.  It will be entertaining for Stuart at the very least since he already knows Kate won't handle chicken.  If there is one thing I love about Kate it's the paradox that she is.  This is a girl who spends her days assisting with vaginal births and C-Sections and sticking her hands in places I won't even begin to describe and yet she will NOT touch chicken.  This is one way we differ because I would sooner touch a chicken than be sticking my hand in some woman's abdomen and holding her internal organs out of the way.  That is the reason she's a labour/delivery nurse and I'm not. But I still can't explain the chicken thing.

Tonight is the BBQ at Frances and Adam's place. I still have to make the pasta salad I'm bringing and to do that I'd have to walk to the grocery store.  So that I will work on.
